Albuquerque, New Mexico attorney Jacquelyn Robins has been practicing law for more than 30 years, spending the majority of her time defending criminal cases. After receiving her law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law, Ms. Robins started a long history of community service, working as a staff lawyer with Zuni Legal Services, then working her way up the ranks in the New Mexico State Public Defender's Office before being appointed by Governor Toney Anaya to become Chief Public Defender for the State of New Mexico in 1985. She was reappointed as Chief Public Defender by Governors Garry Carruthers and Bruce King. In 1991 Ms. Robins resigned as Chief Public Defender in order to return to the courtroom, and started her own practice in 1993. Since returning to private practice, Ms. Robins has focused her legal practice on providing criminal defense representation to people throughout the state of New Mexico, including the communities of Santa Fe, Las Cruces, Roswell, Farmington, Gallup, Las Vegas, Grants, Carlsbad, and Hobbs.
